Horsley Lodge, Derby
I met Dan and Rachael several months prior to their day and the amount of planning which had gone into their special day left me astounded, even down to the pumpkins which they would have at their reception. This was going to be a serious operation….
I visited Rachael on the morning of the big day – she was casually getting ready and taking everything in her stride – super calm and collected, definitely no Bridezilla at this wedding. She looked absolutely stunning in her wedding dress and i couldn’t wait for us to get to the venue and see Dan’s reaction when he first saw her.
I arrived at Horsley lodge where I found Giles, my second photographer, chilling at the bar with Dan and his best men – they were all full of laughter and it was a great atmosphere to be part of.
As planned, the pumpkins were in the ceremony room and it looked fantastic – an amazing touch to a truly Autumn wedding.
We grabbed a few shots of the guests arriving and then, as I waited with Dan at the top of the aisle, I managed to capture his first look at Rachael as she walked down to him and his smile said it all.
A beautiful ceremony followed by some crazy speeches and a mouses head (don’t ask)!
The fantastic newlyweds even braved the cold and we managed to get a few great sunset shots before I nearly fell into the lake. After my near miss, I left the happy couple and their guests to party well into the night,
A truly epic wedding and we loved being part of it… I wish you all the best… Matt
