I grew up in Chesterfield in Derbyshire and still refer to this as my home town. It is nice to be able to photograph weddings here and enjoy the amazing culture of this historic market town. With Chatsworth House just a stone throw away, it is ideally located to visit the amazing Peak District.
The venues around Chesterfield are brilliant and I would recommend each and every one of them. The Peak Edge Hotel is a venue where I actually got married. It is an excellent venue with amazing backdrops for a wedding.
The Crooked Spire
The town’s best known landmark is the Church of St Mary and All Saints, popularly known for its “crooked spire”, which was originally constructed in the 14th century and is why the local football team is known as The Spireites.
Folklore recounts that a Bolsover blacksmith mis-shod the Devil, who leapt over the spire in pain, knocking it out of shape.
I’ve had the pleasure of shooting Wedding and occasions in Chesterfield on many occasions now. I have a few more lined up for 2019 and 2020.
